Early in the 2013 Gold Cup, everyone was watching Landon Donovan to see how he would fare being back in the US national team setup.
By the end of the tournament, you couldn't take your eyes off of him because, arguably, he was playing better than ever as he led the Americans' to their 5th Gold Cup title.
For his performance, including scoring five goals and posting seven assists, Donovan was awarded the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament.
Donovan, who has played in six Gold Cup tournaments, has never previously won the Golden Ball, although he has been named to the Best XI three times.
