American Exports: Conor O'Brien, Nordsjaelland drop Danish Superliga season opener

AMSTERDAM – Despite a strong outing from Conor O'Brien, FC Nordsjælland dropped their Superliga season opener with a 4-0 defeat at Esbjerg on Monday.

The New York native lined up in the holding midfield slot, ringing up nine pass interceptions. Unfortunately, each of the first two Esbjerg goals came directly after the visitors had wasted a scoring chance created by O'Brien at the other end.

The Wild Tigers will now return home to welcome Babajide Ogunbiyi's Viborg on Friday before kicking off Champions League third qualifying-round play with a visit from Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg the following Wednesday.
