Sporting KC recall forward CJ Sapong from loan at Orlando City

C.J. Sapong, Sporting KC (March 2, 2013)

Sporting Kansas City have recalled C.J. Sapong from a loan at USL PRO affiliate Orlando City, the club announced Thursday.

Sapong left for Orlando on July 11, and managed two goals and an assist over two games during his brief spell with the Lions. He picked up one goal and the assist in a 3-3 draw against the Dayton Dutch Lions and recorded the game-winner from the penalty spot in a 2-1 win over the Charleston Battery.

The 2011 MLS Rookie of the Year has scored 16 goals and recorded eight assists over three MLS seasons and will once again try to crack the Sporting lineup as they face a busy second half of the MLS schedule while also participating in the CONCACAF Champions League.
