Castrol Index Weekly Top 20: Nick Rimando paces the pack in Week 18

Rimando, Castrol Index

He's about to represent the US national team at the Gold Cup, but Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando gave his club one more terrific performance before departing.

Rimando's performance against Toronto FC in a 1-0 win Saturday put the RSL man atop the Castrol Index Weekly rankings for Week 18. He made four saves on the day to help his team earn the shutout, and their first-ever win in Toronto.

Behind Rimando was Sporting Kansas City striker Kei Kamara (No. 2), whose brace in the match included the game-winner over Columbus, FC Dallas forward Blas Pérez (No. 3), who hit the dramatic game-tying goal very late in second-half stoppage time against the Philadelphia Union, and Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Brad Knighton (No. 4), who kept a clean sheet of his own in a 1-0 road win over D.C. United.

MLS Player of the WeekAlan Gordon (No. 5) rounds out the Top 5, as his brace against the LA Galaxy in the California Clasico gave the San Jose Earthquakes the shocking 3-2 comeback win.
