American Exports: Tim Ream's agent shoots down report of possible Middlesbrough transfer

Tim Ream with Bolton

AMSTERDAM – The agent for Bolton defender Tim Ream has waved away a UK tabloid report claiming his client is in transfer talks with Championship rivals Middlesbrough.

On Sunday, The Mirror alleged that Boro manager Tony Mowbray was in hot pursuit of the US international. While MLSsoccer.com has learned that Middlesbrough did recently express interest in Ream, the American had already been told that he is in the plans of Bolton boss Dougie Freedman.

"There is nothing to report here," Ream rep Patrick McCabe told MLSsoccer.com. "Tim is away on holiday at the moment. He is settled at Bolton and looking forward to the preseason."

Ream started in 13 of his 15 league appearances this past season, which saw Bolton finish just shy of the promotion playoffs. The St. Louis native has worked 32 contests across all competitions since joining Wanderers in January of last year.
