KINGSTON, Jamaica — Fresh and focused, the US national team arrived in Jamaica's bustling capital city via chartered aircraft at midday on Tuesday ahead of Friday's important World Cup qualifier against the Reggae Boyz (9:30 pm ET, beIN Sport, live chat on MLSsoccer.com).
Their early-morning departure from the Washington, D.C., area was delayed an hour or so by an FAA official's dissatisfaction with a slight distortion of the identification numbers on their jet's fuselage.
But the USMNT nonetheless had several hours to unwind from an otherwise uneventful trip southward before a light early-evening training session at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, home ground of Jamaican National Premier League club Arnett Gardens FC.

Jurgen Klinsmann and his staff closed all but the first 20 minutes or so of the session to media, though their exertions were closely watched by members of the local community who clustered around the fence at the perimeter of the field behind one goal.
Klinsmann and his staff planned to attend the Jamaica vs. Mexico match at the National Stadium later in the evening as they put their final touches on their scouting efforts regarding the Reggae Boyz.
Jamaica are set to enter perhaps the toughest stretch of their Hexagonal schedule, with regional giants Mexico and the United States visiting the island nation this week before the Reggae Boyz travel to Honduras for a pivotal match on June 11.
