AMSTERDAM – Michael Bradley and AS Roma were forced to settle for a Coppa Italia runners-up medal after dropping a 1-0 final decision to arch-enemies Lazio on Sunday.


The US midfielder was among his side's standouts, providing sturdy holding play throughout. However, the first derby cup final between the two rivals would be decided by a 71st-minute strike by Lazio's Senad Lulić.

Over in Austria's Bundesliga, Terrence Boyd notched a goal and an assist as Rapid Vienna closed the season in third place with a 3-0 blanking of guests SV Ried.


Having already logged his ninth assist of the overall campaign, the first-year forward stretched his American exports record for goals in a rookie campaign to 17 in the 88th minute. It was also his 13th league goal of the season, a total good enough for sixth in the league chart.


Further south in Spain, Carlos Bocanegra featured for Racing Santander, but the team's hopes of survival in the second division took a blow with a 0-0 draw at home against Guadalajara. Bocanegra started and went 86 minutes, as the result left them four points off safety with two games remaining.
