AMSTERDAM – A trio of Americans took part in Norwegian Tippeligaen action on Saturday, with Mikkel Diskerud helping second place Rosenborg score a 2-1 victory at Vålerenga.
The US international (above) narrowly missed with a snap volley near the half hour and pitched in with a key line clearance near the break. Diskerud eventually departed with the game still scoreless on 61 minutes.
Elsewhere, Josh Gatt worked a solid 59-minute shift as holders Molde FK got well with a 4-0 rout of Steve Clark and visiting Hønefoss.
The champs vaulted two spots out of the basement by winning for the first time in four matches. Clark logged one of his three saves on fellow Michigan native Gatt as Hønefoss slipped two rungs to 10th.
