Former MLS midfielder Freddy Adu may be in his 10th season as a pro, but he's already on his 15th coach after the latest news that came down on Monday from South America.
Brazilian club Bahia, who signed Adu from the Philadelphia Union in late March, sacked manager Joel Santana after a 7-3 loss to Vitória on Sunday. The club is now being run by assistant manager Eduardo Barroca until a new manager is appointed.
Barroca is technically the third coach Adu has had in a little more than a month at Bahia.
The former D.C. United No. 1 draft pick formally signed on with Bahia on March 25 when the club was then directed by head coach Jorginho. Santana took over for Jorginho on April 7, just days later after a 5-1 loss to Vitória. Ironically, it was another heavy loss to Vitória that also cost Santana his job.
