A few weeks after retiring from professional soccer following his revelation that he is gay, US midfielder Robbie Rogers showed signs that he was rethinking his decision.
In a March 29 interview with The Guardian in England, Rogers said: "I might ask Bruce Arena if I can train with the LA Galaxy — we'll see."
Well, Arena on Wednesday said the door at the Galaxy is open to Rogers.
“He'd always be welcome to train with us," LA's head coach said. "I'm in contact with players and people all the time in the game, and I don't make my conversations or communications public. They don't need to be. But he's always welcome to train with us.”

Arena admitted that Rogers had not formally approached him about training with the club as of yet, but the club's invitation is an open one.
Rogers has been in the national news this week for upcoming scheduled interviews conducted with ABC News Nightline and CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.
On Monday, Rogers also tweeted out: "Ok time to get fit."
His last game action came with English side Stevenage on December 8. Rogers has a total of 106 career MLS regular-season appearances, all coming with the Columbus Crew (2007-11), who traded the MLS rights to Rogers on February 4 to the Chicago Fire.
Would the Galaxy, who have not featured many true wingers on their squad in recent years, be tempted to eventually add the 25-year-old former US national team player to their roster?
“You're putting the cart ahead of the horse here," Arena said. "First of all, I would say no. [His rights are elsewhere] as a starting point.”
