Father-in-law of New England Revolution's Matt Reis injured in Boston Marathon bombing

The father-in-law of veteran New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Reis was one of the injured in Monday's Boston Marathon bombing, the club confirmed via its official Twitter handle.

The explosions happened at 2:50 pm ET near Copley Square, at the finish line of the Marathon. At least 100 people were injured, and at least 15 of those are critical. There have been two reported fatalities.


MLS issued a statement through a spokesman on Monday afternoon:


"Major League Soccer offers our deepest condolences to those affected by today's events in Boston."
