MLS moves Montreal Impact-Columbus Crew match to Sunday due to inclement weather in Quebec

NEW YORK – Because of poor weather conditions in Quebec, Major League Soccer on Friday evening opted to move Saturday's scheduled Montreal Impact vs. Columbus Crew match to Sunday, April 13, at noon ET.

Snow began falling in Montreal on Friday morning, with accumulations of six to nine inches (15-25 centimeters) predicted, along with the possibility of rainfall, through Saturday afternoon. The match was originally scheduled to kick off at 2 pm ET.

“Based on the snow that already has fallen in Montreal, and the forecast for the next 18-24 hours, the weather conditions will hamper efforts to clear the field and the stadium," MLS executive vice president of competition and game operations Nelson Rodriguez said in a statement.

"We believe a high probability exists that the field would be unplayable at the game’s originally scheduled time of Saturday at 2 pm. We appreciate the coordinated efforts of both clubs and our television partners in helping us arrive at the solution of playing the game Sunday at noon.”

The rescheduled game will be broadcast live nationally in Canada on TSN2 and RDS2, regionally on Fox Sports Ohio and online on MLS Live.
