American Exports: Charlie Davies makes his first start of Danish season for Randers

Charlie Davies with Randers

AMSTERDAM – Charlie Davies enjoyed a decent full shift in his first start of the Superliga season, but Randers FC were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at Odense BK on Thursday.

The forward did some fine work running with the ball and in combos with teammates, but fired his only two shots of the game off target. Davies also earned three free kicks as Randers nudged their lead for Denmark's second Champions League invite to two points over Conor O'Brien and FC Nordsjælland, who hold two games in hand.

South of the border in Germany's second flight, Bobby Wood worked the last half-hour as 1860 Munich held on for a 1-0 victory at Erzgebirge Aue.

The Lions now hold four straight wins and an eight-match unbeaten streak away from home. The win allowed them to climb one rung to fifth place, three points out of the promotion playoff spot.
