American Exports: Orozco Fiscal sees red as Puebla routed

Michael Orozco Fiscal throws in

PUEBLA, Mexico – It was a Saturday to forget for Puebla, as Michael Orozco Fiscal (above) was sent off in the 54th minute for deliberately handling the ball to stop it going into the net in a 3-0 to Monterrey.

Teammate DaMarcus Beasley also had a disappointing evening in round eight of games in the Liga MX, putting in a quiet first half and was taken off at halftime. The result sees Puebla move down outside the playoff places.

On a more positive note, Jose Torres started and went 62 minutes for Tigres UANL on Saturday in their 2-1 victory at Cruz Azul. The midfielder’s team is the only unbeaten side in the Liga MX and sits in first position in the table.

On Friday, Herculez Gomez’s Santos Laguna managed an important 1-0 victory over Club América, with the Las Vegas-raised forward playing 61 minutes in the encounter, which moved the Guerreros into sixth position.

Down in Mexico’s second division, Marco Vidal’s Lobos BUAP fell 1-0 to Estudiantes Tecos on Friday, with the American playing the full game.

On Saturday, Sonny Guadarrama went 82 minutes in Mérida’s 1-1 draw away at Correcaminos.

In Costa Rica, Moises Hernandez’s Saprissa were held 2-2 at home to Limón on Saturday. The FC Dallas loanee completed the 90 minutes.
