Almost exactly a year after it began, the Kris Boyd era is over in Portland.

The Timbers announced on Friday afternoon that the club came to a mutual agreement with their Scottish Designated Player to terminate his contract on Thursday. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We would like to thank Kris for his service to the club and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” Timbers general manager Gavin Wilkinson said in a press release.

Boyd signed with the Timbers on Jan. 30, 2012 after a stint at Turkish side Eskişehirspor.

He saw action in 26 league matches last season, scoring seven goals and one assist during a difficult year for the club.
