American Exports: Bedoya likely to return to Helsingborg

Alejandro Bedoya with Helsingborg

AMSTERDAM – Free agent midfielder Alejandro Bedoya is most likely to return to Helsingborg on another six-month deal, MLSsoccer.com has learned.

Sources indicated that the only bid actively competing with the Reds is from Swiss title-chasers FC Sion. Barring a dramatic turn of events, he'll probably return to the Allsvenskan club after completing US national team duty and hope for more attractive options during the busier summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old has already rejected multiple offers, including those from Swedish champs Elfsborg and a club in Ukraine's top flight. Bedoya has seen widespread interest during this window, with the likes of Brest, CSKA Sofia and 2.Bundesliga outfit Dynamo Dresden in the race at some point. He's also received calls from clubs in MLS, Mexico and Belgium in recent months.
Bedoya, who previously suited up for Örebro and Scottish giants Rangers, scored twice in eight contests for sixth place finishers Helsingborg last season.
