American Exports: Cherundolo's return date still unclear

Steve Cherundolo with Hannover

AMSTERDAM – Hannover 96 are unsure on a return date for injured captain Steve Cherundolo, whose roller coaster knee nag has him set to visit a specialist later in the week.

The right back has missed both Bundesliga matches coming out of the winter break. Cherundolo initially returned to training early last week, only to suffer a setback leading up to their weekend derby win over Wolfsburg.
On Monday, though, he was again well enough to rejoin team workouts.
"He was able to train today," Hannover press officer Alex Jacob told MLSsoccer.com. "He will see a specialist and talk to our doctors, and then we will see how he feels."
The Reds, who begin Europa League knockout play away to Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala on Valentine's Day, stand 10th in the table ahead of Friday night's Bundesliga trip to Werder Bremen.
