American Exports: Chandler gets good news on injury

Timothy Chandler started against Paraguay in the USA's 1-0 loss

AMSTERDAM – Timothy Chandler is set to return to FC Nürnberg training on Tuesday after an exam showed that he did not suffer a concussion during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Hamburg.

The US international was pulled in the 65th minute after being struck in the head from close range by a shot on goal.

"We thought at first that he might have a concussion," FCN press liaison Luana Valentini told MLSsoccer.com following Monday's all-clear. "We expect him to be back in training tomorrow. He did not train today, but it was just to be safe."

Thus far this season Chandler has started all 18 league games for Der Club. Currently standing eight points above the drop zone in 15th place, Nürnberg will get back to action with Friday's Bundesliga trip to holders Borussia Dortmund.
