NEW YORK – The rumors surrounding Fredy Montero have been swirling and now they may be at their conclusion. According to reports out of Colombia, Millonarios have secured the rumored loan of the Seattle Sounders forward.

Colombian radio network Antena 2 reported on Tuesday that "Fredy Montero is Millonarios' newest player, is waiting in Bogotá and will be presented on [Thursday]."

Montero's own father, Fredy Sr., went a step further, confirming in an interview with Blu Radio that his son will be returning to his homeland for one year.

"Tonight, we'll have a dinner at home to bid farewell to Fredy," the elder Montero told the Colombian radio network. "[Millonarios] were defining if [the loan] was going to be for six months, but it will finally be for a year."

Montero has yet to sign a contract with Millonarios, continued his father, but will travel on Wednesday to Bogotá to do so on Wednesday or Thursday.

Neither the Sounders nor Millonarios elected to comment on the reports when contacted by FutbolMLS.com. Last week, a source with knowledge of the negotiations confirmed to FutbolMLS.com that "the transfer is 98-99 percent ready."
