American Exports: Tigres list Bornstein for transfer again

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Americans Jonathan Bornstein and Austin Guerrero have been made available for transfer by Tigres UANL, the club announced on Monday.

Bornstein, 28, has endured another frustrating season at the Monterrey club, who didn’t make the playoffs this Apertura 2012. The 2010 World Cup veteran only featured on two occasions in the Liga MX.

In June, Bornstein (above) was also transfer-listed and loaned to Cancún-based club Atlante during the Liga MX draft, only for the deal to fall through, meaning the left back had to return to Monterrey.

Bornstein signed for Tigres from Chivas USA in July 2010 and headed south after the 2010 MLS season.

Also on the list is 23-year-old goalkeeper Guerrero, who joined Tigres last January after graduating from the University of Portland. He hasn’t featured for the first team.
