NEW YORK – Major League Soccer announced today that tickets for MLS Cup 2012, which will feature the LA Galaxy hosting the Houston Dynamo, will go on sale for a special 24-hour presale for Visa cardholders. The 17th MLS championship game, MLS Cup 2012, will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4:30 p.m. ET at The Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. This is The Home Depot Center’s fifth time hosting this prestigious event (2003, 2004, 2008, 2011). The game will be broadcast live on ESPN, Telefutura, TSN, and RDS.

Visa cardholders have access to a limited number of tickets beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET on Monday, November 19 and ending Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 1:00 p.m. ET.

The previous 16 MLS Cups have attracted more than 570,000 fans (an average of 35,731 per game) to see MLS’ season-ending championship. Last year’s game, which was also held at The Home Depot Center, drew a sellout crowd of 30,281 to watch the LA Galaxy defeat the Houston Dynamo, 1-0.

Ticket prices range from $57.50 to $450.

MLS Cup 2012 is the 17th annual championship game of Major League Soccer and will match the league’s Eastern and Western Conference Champions in a single match finale. In a rematch of MLS Cup 2011, the fourth-seeded LA Galaxy from the Western Conference will host the fifth-seeded Houston Dynamo from the Eastern Conference.
