In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the MLS to Queens Street Team spent their weekend volunteering to clean-up Flushing Meadows Corona Park in conjunction with the local Parks Department’s clean-up efforts.

On Saturday, 12 people dedicated their weekend to volunteer and clean up over 250 bags of debris, primarily near the youth playground on the west end of the Park. On Sunday, 15 people volunteered and cleaned up over 300 bags of debris near The Olmsted Center.

Julissa Ferreras, Democratic member of the New York City Council residing in and representing the 21st district of Queens, showed up on Sunday to help and bought pizza for the MLS Street Team to show her thanks for helping the community.
