American Exports: Torres to Tigres, according to report

Jose Torres argues with the official

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — US international Jose “Gringo” Torres’ nine-year stint at Pachuca could be coming to an end, with at least one report in Mexico suggesting he has signed a pre-contract with Tigres UANL.

“Those that will arrive [at Tigres] and already have an agreement are Pachuca midfielder José Francisco “Gringo” Torres and Atlas defender Hugo Rodríguez,” wrote San Cadilla in his column in Cancha on Wednesday.

A December move to the northern city of Monterrey would bring the 25-year-old Torres within a couple hours drive of his native Texas and would also mean the World Cup veteran could feature in Tigres’ CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal tie with the Seattle Sounders in March.
