Third Party Opposition: Nick DeLeon & DCU

It's election season, folks. Rally behind your candidate and get ready to fill out your ballot, the 2012 race for Rookie of the Year is steaming right along.

Darren Mattocks might have been the odds on favorite a few months ago, but thanks to some expert campaigning in Chi-Town and Dallas, Austin Berry and Matt Hedges have come to the fore.

Today we had a third party getting in on the fun: Enter Nick DeLeon and D.C. United

In what you could call the first smear campaign of this year's race, we have DeLeon pouring out and devouring a bowl of Austin Berrys in what appears to be an auxiliary break room at RFK. Pure class.

So what say you, voters? Have DeLeon and DCU done enough? Or is Berry's lead in the polls insurmountable at this point? Unfortunately for Mr. Hedges being the second most impressive defender in class doesn't do much for your approval rating.

If only we had a debate between the three candidates to help us decide, guess that's what playoffs are for.
