American Exports: Parkhurst, Nordsjaelland fall off pace

AMSTERDAM – Several Americans suited up across the pond on Friday, with Michael Parkhurst and Danish title defenders FC Nordsjælland suffering a 3-0 slip at Odense BK.


The US right back departed with nine minutes remaining as the Wild Tigers dropped consecutive Superliga road games for the first time in over 13 months. The champs currently stand third, six points off the title pace of FC Copenhagen.

Next door in the Dutch second flight, Charles Kazlauskas worked 73 minutes in midfield as title chasers Helmond Sport fought back from two down for a 2-2 share at nine-man Excelsior. Now winless in three, the North Brabant crew slipped a spot to third on goal differential.


In Norway's Tippeligaen, Chad Barrett watched on as Vålerenga rallied late for a 1-1 draw with visiting league leaders Strømsgodset.
