American Exports preview: Spurs duo have Man U. date

Clint Dempsey in EPL action for Spurs

AMSTERDAM – Several important clashes are on the weekend card for Americans in Europe, and we're here to help you keep them all straight.

All times listed in ET.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Manchester United vs. Tottenham (Clint Dempsey, Brad Friedel) – Saturday, 12:30 pm on Fox Soccer

Both Americans should start for the hosts, with the latter making his 310th straight EPL start in goal. Friedel has not won in his last four against the Red Devils, but he has posted an even split in his last three at Old Trafford.

Dempsey, who's had strikes waved off the last two weeks, has never scored against United. Spurs will need him too, as they're winless in 22 league games in the series and haven't won in Manchester since 1989.

Everton (Tim Howard) vs. Southampton – Saturday, 10 a.m. on Fox Soccer 2Go

The US netminder has seven clean sheets and but one loss in the last 14 EPL games, and has seven shutout wins in his last 10 at Goodison.

Howard is 2-1-0 lifetime against the Saints, but hasn't faced them since 2005. That was also the last year Everton faced Southampton, when they left off with a seven-game unbeaten run in the series.

Aston Villa (Brad Guzan, Eric Lichaj) vs. West Bromwich Albion – Sunday, 11 am on Fox Soccer

With both US internationals set to start, the Villans will try to halt a three-match winless slide against derby rivals West Brom.

Guzan, who has never faced the Baggies, is looking to rebound from his first loss of the season. The visitors will arrive quite shorthanded, with James Morrison, Liam Ridgewell and Peter Odemwingie among the missing.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

Hamburg vs. Hannover 96 (Steve Cherundolo) – Saturday, 9:30 am

The skipper and his crew continue their regional travels with a short trek to Hamburg. The third-place Reds have already taken down nearby rivals Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen this season.

Hannover have gone 290 minutes without a goal at HSV, and seven games without a win there and to make matters trickier, the visitors must do without Leon Andreasen, Christian Pander and Artur Sobiech.
