American Exports: Chandler, Nurnberg lose first of season

HELMOND, Netherlands – Several Americans took to Friday night lights overseas, with Conor O'Brien notching a goal and assist to help SønderjyskE fight back late for a 2-2 share at AGF Aarhus.

With the visitors down two in the 65th minute, the central midfielder broke in alone to slot past the home goaltender. In stoppage time, O'Brien fed Tommy Bechmann to bag the equalizer.

South of the border in the Bundesliga, Timothy Chandler (above) and FC Nürnberg lost their first game of the season, 2-1 to visiting Eintracht Frankfurt. The right back departed in a tactical switch with 20 minutes to play as his side missed a chance to tentatively grab the league perch.

One level down, Jospeh Gyau went unused in St. Pauli's 2-1 defeat at FSV Frankfurt.

Next door in the Dutch second flight, Charles Kazlauskas reverted to right back in Helmond Sport's 1-1 rally draw with visiting Fortuna Sittard. The result snapped a five-game winning streak as their Jupiler League lead shrank to two points.

Over in Sweden, Brian Span came on for the final five minutes as Djurgården suffered a 3-0 home loss to Allsvenskan leaders BK Häcken.
