Roundup: MLS players find success in WC qualifying

Ireland striker Robbie Keane

It may have been a night to forget for the United States, but plenty of other MLS players found success across the international date.

Outside of the Jamaica-USA and Canada-Panama games, the most notable success was also found in CONCACAF as MLS players accounted for all three goals in Honduras' 3-0 triumph at Cuba. New England's Jerry Bengtson opened the scoring and San Jose pair Victor Bernardez and Marvin Chavez capped things off with a goal apiece.

Not to be forgotten is LA's Robbie Keane, who scored a crucial penalty with Ireland minutes away from an embarassing loss at Kazakhstan. A minute after Keane equalized from the spot, Kevin Doyle struck to give the Boys in Green all three points. Toronto's Darren O'Dea also went the full 90 minutes in that game.

Tim Cahill was the other MLS player to find the net, as he scored the opening goal in Australia's 3-0 friendly win in Lebanon.
