Mix Diskerud celebrates his first Rosenborg goal

AMSTERDAM – A pair of Americans took part in some Monday night football overseas, with Mikkel Diskerud ably patrolling central park in Rosenborg's 2-0 victory at Stabæk.

The US midfielder (above, right) twice went close to scoring as the Troll Kids won for the fourth time in their last five league matches away from home. The result lifted Rosenborg to within one point of the Tippeligaen perch with nine games to play.

Over in Israel, Leo Krupnik and Maccabi Netanya remained winless through two rounds after a suffering a 1-0 Maccabi Tel Aviv smash-and-grab. The former New York Red Bulls defender cleared his line with the game still scoreless in the 49th minute.
