Ben Olsen said it himself: The All-Star Game is like playing fantasy soccer.
So we ask, why let the MLS All-Star head coach have all the fun?
MLSsoccer.com took it a step further and we enacted a fantasy of our own: Chelsea's players are up for grabs. It's a Dispersal Draft, and MLS has first dibs.
We came up with the MLS clubs that would make the best fit for 10 of Chelsea's best players (in alphabetical order). Indulge us and play along now.
1. Petr Cech (goalkeeper): Schellas Hyndman loves the take-charge veteran goalkeeper. Depending on whether Kevin Hartman decides to stick around another year, the Czech giant could be Hyndman's new go-to guy at FC Dallas.
2. Ashley Cole (defender): The Portland Timbers have yet to find a reliable left back. First it was Mike Chabala, then it was Rodney Wallace and now it's a Scotsman: Steve Smith. Ashley Cole would lock this position down once and for all.
3. Michael Essien (midfielder): It's been a revolving door for Robert Warzycha at the holding mid spot. The Columbus Crew coach would give an arm and a leg for a two-way midfield boss like the Ghanaian veteran.
4. Eden Hazard (midfielder): They need to get young fast and they're not deviating from their club philosophy. So how about a youthful, technical, creative midfielder who can carry the Real Salt Lake attack on his back?
5. Frank Lampard (midfielder): Think of the partnership he'd make with Torsten Frings at Toronto FC. Lampard would obviously be the one pushing up. Sorry, Galaxy.
6. David Luiz (defender): The Seattle Sounders' Achilles heel is their back line. The playmaking Brazilian defender would make a lot of sense and Sounders fans would definitely take to his curls.
7. Raul Meireles (midfielder): Every match, there's always that one midfield spot that seems unsettled on the New York Red Bulls. The Portuguese international would claim it as his own. The Ironbound district would also likely not object.
8. Ramires (midfielder): Marco Pappa might be leaving the Chicago Fire. Pável Pardo and Logan Pause are a year older. The all-purpose Brazilian midfielder could plug more than a few holes.
9. John Terry (defender): We love the "University of Maryland boys done good" story with Omar Gonzalez and A.J. DeLaGarza in the back for the LA Galaxy. But a Terry-Gonzo partnership? Unbeatable.
10. Fernando Torres (forward): Speaking of partnerships. Chivas USA are struggling big time for goals and Juan Agudelo can't do it all himself. The pairing of the USA's El Nino with Spain's "El Niño" could be lethal.
