Fire's Klopas, Anibaba suspended for matchup against Chivas USA

Fire defender Jalil Anibaba and head coach Frank Klopas will each miss the team’s game against Chivas USA on Friday as a result from dismissals stemming from the Fire’s 2-1 loss to the Seattle Sounders over the weekend.

Anibaba received a red card on a rash challenge on Sounders defender Leo González in the dying seconds of the match on Saturday, a tackle which directly led to a postgame scuffle between the teams on the field at Toyota Park.

Klopas was dismissed by referee Michael Kennedy for directing abusive language toward the officials following the match.

Klopas will be allowed to watch the game against Chivas USA from a suite in The Home Depot Center, but he’s not allowed in the locker room or near the bench for the match.
