American Exports: Nurnberg extend Chandler thru 2015

AMSTERDAM — FC Nürnberg have extended the contract of right-sider Timothy Chandler for two seasons, locking down the US international until the summer of 2015.

The 22-year-old Frankfurt native rejected a summer move to Stuttgart, opting instead for an improved Frankenstadion deal.

"We had in talks with Timmy that we had the same feelings about his sporting development and the development of the club," FCN executive Martin Bader told the club website. "We are pleased to be able to extend his contract early."

Since moving up from the reserves last winter, Chandler has two goals and five assists in 48 Bundesliga and DfB-Pokal matches for Nürnberg. In this time, the German-American has also earned eight USMNT caps.
