American Exports: Davies shakes off knee injury

Charlie Davies

AMSTERDAM – Sochaux forward Charlie Davies has beaten a knee knock and is ready to resume fighting for a place in the selection.

The US international was not named in the squad for Saturday's tilt at league leaders Montpellier, but is now back up to speed in full training. Davies looked set for a recall to the first team two weekends ago, but a minor setback forced him to miss their March 18 win over Nice and subsequent loss at Lyon.

"Charlie was unable to play due to a small knee injury, but last week he played again with our reserves to get back some rhythm," Sochaux press officer Stijn Slaats told MLSssocer.com. "He trained all week with the first squad."

Davies has made two appearances since returning to the Ligue 1 side in January from a D.C. United loan spell, and none since late February. Les Lionceaux currently stand next-to-last in the table, but are only one point shy of a survival place with eight games remaining.
