AMSTERDAM – Those looking for crunch matches involving Americans in Europe will be made dizzy by this weekend's stocked card. All times listed in ET.
GERMAN BUNDESLIGA
Hannover 96 vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach (Sunday, 9:30 am on ESPN3.com)
American: Steve Cherundolo (H96) – The Reds and their Captain America will try to put Thursday's last-minute downer at Atlético Madrid out of their head to focus on earning a Europa League return ticket. Hannover are two points shy of both clubs currently holding the corresponding table spots.
Until last season's 1-0 loss to 'Gladbach at the AWD, Hannover had won three straight home meetings by a 12-1 combined tally.
Hoffenheim vs. Schalke (Sunday, 11:30 am on GolTV)
Americans: Joseph Gyau, Fabian Johnson, Daniel Williams (H'heim), Jermaine Jones (S04) – Despite a less-than-stellar stint at left back, Johnson should continue to start there for the hosts. However, Williams may work from the bench and Gyau could miss out altogether.
Jones, meanwhile, will take his usual place one yellow card from a suspension. Schalke, who will be trying to shake off Thursday's Europa League collapse at home, are winless in three all-time visits to Hoffenheim.
