GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Puebla's DaMarcus Beasley should be fit to face Querétaro this weekend despite worries that he was set to miss the rest of the season.
The US midfielder wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday evening that he was off to hospital for X-rays with what was suspected to be chipped a bone in his ankle, an injury that usually puts players out of action for at least a few weeks.
But early concerns subsided when the X-ray came back all clear.
“The recuperation will be a day,” a Puebla spokesman told MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday. “There'll be no problem for the next game.”
Beasley confirmed, again via Twitter, that the X-ray showed no sign of chipped bone and that he was hoping to train on Thursday.
The American has been one of Puebla's star performers for the second season running, scoring the equalizing goal last weekend against Cruz Azul and becoming a regular on the left wing. Despite that, the team has struggled in the Clausura 2012 and is in 16th position with just nine points from 12 games.
