AMSTERDAM — Philadelphia Union attacker Sébastien Le Toux has begun a one-week training stint with Premier League battlers Bolton, manager Owen Coyle confirmed on Thursday.
With his team standing one point from bottom through 21 matches, Coyle — already well-known for being an admirer of MLS — is trying to reinforce a squad decimated by injuries.
"Sébastien has been invited to the club for a week's training and we will be having a look at him during that time," Wanderers press officer Mark Alderton told MLSsoccer.com.
Bolton currently have seven players rehabbing long term setbacks, including US midfielder Stuart Holden, who Coyle plucked from the Houston Dynamo two years ago.
Currently in the midst of negotiating a deal for New York Red Bulls defender Tim Ream, Coyle divulged the Le Toux visit during his press conference for Saturday's EPL visit from Liverpool.
The 28-year-old Frenchman, who got his start with Rennes and Lorient in his native country, has amassed 26 goals and 23 assists in 90 MLS regular-season games. Le Toux won the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup with Seattle in 2009 and was a Best XI selection following the Union's inaugural season in 2010.
