AMSTERDAM — American exports took one on the chin away from home on Sunday, as Brad Friedel's 11-game unbeaten run was halted by third-place Tottenham's 2-1 defeat at Stoke City.
The 2002 World Cup hero made four saves, including dazzlers on Matthew Etherington and Ryan Shawcross, but the former bagged a first-half double to earn all three points for the Potters.
Elsewhere, Michael Bradley and Chievo slipped to 15th place in Serie A after falling 2-1 at new league-leaders Udinese. The US midfielder was lax in holding the line on the home side's opener, but otherwise continued his strong run of form.
