Stefan Frei and Adrian Cann celebrate Toronto FC's 2-0 win over the Portland Timbers

MONTREAL — Maybe it is possible to go home again.

There are seven players available for the Impact to select in Wednesday’s Expansion Draft who have suited up for the club in the past.

Could any of them be coming back?

Adrian Cann, Toronto FC —  Experienced centerback who got his first regular playing time as a pro with the Impact in 2004-05, making 22 appearances.

Joey Gjertsen, San Jose Earthquakes — A club hero during his time here (2008-09), mainly for his performances in the CONCACAF Champions League and his match-winning goal in the 2009 USL final.

Miguel Montano, Seattle Sounders — Silky smooth and young (20).  Played six games and scored one goal while on loan with the Impact in 2011.

Ryan Pore, Portland Timbers — The 2010 D-2 leading scorer arrived in Montreal on loan in 2011, and (unsurprisingly) scored seven goals in 11 appearances.

Greg Sutton, New York Red Bulls — Spent five years in Montreal, from 2001-06, and was named Goalkeeper of the Year four straight years (’03-’06). An Impact legend.

Eddy Viator, Toronto FC — Okay, he never played for the Impact, but the Guadeloupe international trialed with the Impact in July before signing with the Reds.

Andrew Weber, San Jose Earthquakes — Spent two years in Montreal, making 29 appearances between 2006-08.
