American Exports: Parkhurst & Co. continue title assault

AMSTERDAM — Michael Parkhurst and FC Nordsjælland put the SAS Liga title race back on the kettle with a huge 3-1 win at three-time defending champs FC Copenhagen on Monday night.

The US international held down right back as the Wild Tigers won for the eighth time in their last 10 league games to cut Copenhagen's lead to four points. In regaining second place, the visitors also snapped a five-game losing streak in the series.

Meanwhile, in Portugal, Oguchi Onyewu's groin knock kept him in the dugout to watch as Sporting CP rolled to a 6-1 win over Gil Vicente. The Lions moved up to third place on the strength of their fourth straight Liga ZON Sagres victory.
