American Exports: Kazlauskas scores in Helmond win

AMSTERDAM — Charles Kazlauskas scored the early opener to help Helmond Sport see off Dutch second-flight foes FC Zwolle by a 3-1 count on Monday.

In the 14th minute, the Milwaukee native (above) outraced the away defense to a diagonal long ball over the top and applied a leaping touch just in time to chip the onrushing netminder. The result lifted the hosts up to seventh place through five matches.

Elsewhere, Ryan Miller entered in the 68th minute to work right back, helping Allsvenskan cellar-dwellers Halmstads BK rally late for a 2-2 draw with Gefle.
