Recap: Late Guardado goal gives El Tri win

Mexico are on a roll. El Tri continued an impressive string of results with a 1-0 win over Chile on Sunday in Barcelona, Spain.

Deportivo La Coruña attacker Andrés Guardado struck a 78th-minute free kick goal to hand Mexico a second positive result in Europe in three days. José Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre’s side drew 1-1 with Poland on Friday in Warsaw.

Excluding the three matches at July’s Copa América — to which Mexico took a young B-level squad — El Tri have gone 16 matches unbeaten, stretching back a full year.

New York Red Bulls defender Rafa Márquez went 90 minutes for Mexico.
