WFC: América, Man. City release rosters for Saturday tilt

SAN FRANCISCO — Manchester City and Club América will bring out the big boys when they collide in a Herbalife World Football Challenge match at AT&T Park on Saturday (8 pm, TeleFutura).

The reigning FA Cup champs will feature a bevy of 2010 World Cup veterans. Among the list are English internationals Joe Hart, Shawn Wright-Phillips, James Milner and Gareth Barry. Also included are Dutch midfielder Nigel de Jong, Ivory Coast’s Yaya Touré, and German defender Jérôme Boateng.

Highlighting manager Roberto Mancini’s travel roster is Spanish midfielder and 2010 World Cup champ David Silva.

Club América, led by manager Carlos Reinoso, will show up with Mexican internationals Óscar Rojas, Matías Vuoso and Carlos Valenzuela, and the attacking ranks will boast Argentine forward Daniel Montenegro, Uruguay international Vicente Sánchez, and Brazilian playmaker Adolfo Rosinei.

Also in the squad will be American international Edgar Castillo and American-born Isaac Acuña, who return to the club after loan spells at Puebla and Querétaro, respectively.

The match between Manchester City and Club América will be the first for each in the World Football Challenge. The Citizens also have matches against Vancouver and the LA Galaxy lined up, while las Águilas will also face off against Juventus and Barcelona.
