American Exports: Bedoya sent off as Örebro fall again

AMSTERDAM — Örebro midfield ace Alejandro Bedoya was sent off with a second yellow card near time as the slumping visitors dropped a 3-0 decision at Elfsborg in Swedish Allsvenskan action on Sunday evening.

The US international first went into the book for a 72nd minute foul that appeared more dive than challenge. Apparently still frustrated by the earlier call, Bedoya was sent to a slightly early shower after offering what referee Jonas Eriksson claimed was a profane directive.

Having lost both ends of a home-and-home doubleheader with title chasers Elfsborg by identical scorelines inside of eight days, Örebro have now dropped four straight to fall to 10th place.

While Bedoya will sit for suspension during next weekend's league game, he will be available for his UEFA debut when ÖSK kick off Europa League qualifying second-round play at home to FK Sarajevo on Thursday night.
