American Exports: Gatt, Molde back on top in Norway

AMSTERDAM — Josh Gatt continued providing emergency relief at right back on Wednesday night, as Molde FK regained the Tippeligaen top spot with a 2-1 victory at Vålerenga.

With fellow Michigan native Sean Cunningham watching on from the dugout, the teen winger's game was somewhat a tale of two halves.

Though clean on the ball all night, Gatt did have considerable difficulty corralling Vålerenga speed demon Luton Shelton in the first half. His early troubles went unpunished, though, and the youngster made good on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær's faith with tighter coverage after the break.

The win was Molde's eighth in their last 11 league games and gives them the second-highest road-point total behind Mikkel Diskerud's Stabæk.
