AMSTERDAM - Eugene Starikov and Tom Tomsk clawed and scraped their way back from an early deficit to eventually rally at the death for a 1-1 draw with guests Spartak Moscow on Tuesday afternoon.
The former Stetson University standout fired off four shots throughout the match, with three of them forcing good saves by Spartak's Ukraine netminder Andriy Dikan.
Tomsk spent most of the game playing catch-up to Artem Dzyuba's 20th minute strike, but Starikov's fellow Zenit St. Petersburg loan-out Maksim Kanunnikov earned the home side a share with a superb solo effort a minute from time.
