AMSTERDAM – Edson Buddle worked 66 minutes up top as Ingolstadt moved clear of the relegation zone with a 2-1 victory at Energie Cottbus on Friday.

The former LA Galaxy star twice forced saves from home 'keeper Thorsten Kirschbaum, who had to be at his best to deny the American 10 minutes before halftime.

Elsewhere in the 2.Bundesliga, Luis Robles hopped off the bench near the hour as relief 'keeper in Karlsruher's 2-2 draw with visiting Osnabrück.

The visitors appeared to have earned a victory for debutant manager Joe Enochs with an 84th-minute goal, but Matthias Langenkamp buried a stoppage-time restart equalizer to keep Karlsruher two points ahead of the Lily Whites for the final survival spot.

Over in France's Ligue 2, Quentin Westberg served as backup netminder as Évian jumped from fourth place to first with a 2-0 win over Nimes.
