US U-17s finish unbeaten against Jamaica

The United States U-17 national team finished undefeated in a two-game weekend set with Jamaica's youth side, posting a scoreless draw on Friday before earning a 2-1 victory on Sunday.

The Americans couldn't manage to find the back of the net in the first affair, but Santa Rosa, Calif., native Kendall McIntosh made three saves as the US earned a shutout.

The second match saw more action, as Esteban Rodriguez converted a penalty kick and forward Alfred Koroma also tallied before Omar Holmes netted for the home side.

Mobi Fehr and Nathan Smith played all 180 minutes for the Red, White and Blue.

The team returns from Jamaica on Feb. 3 and will spend a week training in Bradenton, Fla., before heading back to the Caribbean island for the U-17 CONCACAF Championship. The semifinalists of the 12-team tournament earn berths in the 2011 U-17 World Cup.
