Five questions with Marvell Wynne

Marvell Wynne played for the US in a friendly against Honduras in 2010.

Marvell Wynne has speed to burn. That was the quality that made him the first overall pick in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft and earned him a spot on the United States 2007 Copa AmƩrica roster.
The former U-20 and U-23 standout hasn't had the career he anticipated, but a switch to center back last season for the MLS Cup-winning Colorado Rapids rejuvenated his play.
Bob Bradley called the 5-foot-9 defender into the January camp and Wynne did his best to compete with Omar Gonzalez, Tim Ream and the rest of the up-and-coming center defenders for time. MLSsoccer.com caught up with Wynne after the American's penultimate training session at the Home Depot Center.
1. What's your most memorable United States national team moment?

I guess my first [game], playing against Argentina.

2. What would you tell yourself of five years ago?

Relax. Just relax and play. Relax with my mentality in general. Don't take things so serious. Enjoy what you do.

[inline_node:324224]3. Favorite teammate to play with and why?

It would have to be back in Toronto, when I played with Chad Barrett. He's just a funny guy. He's a good friend of mine. We played together in college as well, so we know the way each other plays and it shows on the field.

4. What's one skill you could improve?

Long balls and headers.

5. Where do you see yourself in five years in regards to the US team?

I see myself on the bubble, similar to where I am right now.
