TORONTO — Toronto FC attacker Dwayne De Rosario trained with Scottish powerhouse Celtic today for the first time since questions about whether he had received the proper permission to be with the club were raised.
Grant Russell of Scotland’s STV Sport told MLSsoccer.com that the Canadian international was on the training pitch but that Celtic was still not answering questions about his situation. He suggested that was atypical of the club. “Celtic PR are dodging all calls on this,” he said.
Last night Toronto confirmed that they were working with the league and Celtic to obtain the proper training agreement. A TFC spokesman indicated that they would update the situation once the paperwork was in order. The club had not confirmed things prior to De Rosario training today.
Through his agent De Rosario has said that he will not be commenting until the trial with Celtic is completed.
