American Exports: Friedel gives up three in loss

Stoke City turned around a halftime deficit to beat Brad Friedel and Aston Villa 2-1.

AMSTERDAM – Brad Friedel and Aston Villa continued their recent slide with a 3-0 loss at Liverpool on Monday night.


The former US national-team star was beaten by David Ngog, Ryan Babel and Maxi Rodríguez as the Villans dropped their third straight league match to fall to 16th place.


Fellow Americans Brad Guzan and Eric Lichaj both watched on from the Villa dugout.
